Chemionyx® Water Treatment

NOVO logoProduced and frack flowback wastewater is treated to industrial reuse standards to be resold for a variety of uses including light brine for refracking, heavy brine to develop casing pressure and road spray for winter deicing and summer dust control.

The Chemionyx™ water treatment system includes unloading to a tank farm and pretreatment in the tank farm to remove sand, floating oil, and grease, and active treatment using pulse electrocoagulation and chemical injection and filtration to create useable water.  A Chemionyx™ chemical is added to the system to enhance chemical degradation of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon bonds in waste molecules, producing non‐hazardous fatty acids.  Oil collected is sold or used to generate power via Gasplasma®.  Water treatment sludge is processed in the Chemionyx™ Solids Treatment System.

Chemionyx™ Solids Treatment

Drill cuttings (water, saline and oil‐based) either in wet or stabilized form, spent drill mud, tank/lagoon bottoms, and process solids are delivered in wet or dry form and treated.  Solids and non-salable organic wastes are forwarded for further processing by Gasplasma® and Direct Plasma units.

LGE LogoLocal community landfills produce substantial volumes of municipal solid waste, commercial waste, and construction and demolition debris.   These wastes contain a high percentage of organic materials, which can be further concentrated via shredding and sorting to remove concrete, metal and glass. The remaining waste, together with dried sewage sludge and the organic residue from Chemionyx™ treatment are processed by Gasplasma®’s plasma gasification technology to create a high quality synthetic gas.   This gas is then transformed into renewable methane or used in a gas engine or fuel cell to generate heat and power.

Oil recovered from water and solids treatment in pure form or in emulsified form with water can be used to augment the organic content of the refuse derived fuel pellets by spraying or direct injection.

Direct Plasma units vitrify inorganic solids into a very hard, non-leaching solid trademarked as Plasmarok™ that can be sold as an aggregate for construction uses.  NORM and TENORM are bound into this solid in proportions that are non-injurious to the environment.

SOLIDpower Fuel Cells

SolidPower_logoIn locations where electric power is scarce or environmental emissions concerns high, SOLIDpower S.p.A. (SP) will provide its second-generation fuel cell technology to the integrated recycling system.  SP’s fuel cells will run on Gasplasma® syngas, with a 90% conversion efficiency (50% of the energy in the fuel produced as electricity, 40% as heat).  A very low carbon footprint and independence from the grid allow deployment of PDs integrated solution virtually anywhere in the world where there is waste.
